Terms of use of Meposit service

These terms of use constitute an agreement between you and swapps, and govern your use of Meposit service, hereinafter referred to as ‘Meposit’. This agreement is supplemented by the policy on the use of your personal information by Meposit and its partners. You shall read and agree to all of the terms of use of Meposit service before signing up for an account on this website.
Please note the following risks of using Meposit service:- Your privilege to make deposits may be suspended in the event suspicious activity is detected on your Meposit account. You will automatically receive an SMS notification informing you about it;
- Deposits you make to your Meposit account may fail the validation process and be automatically rejected if, for example, the amount deposited exceeds the maximum limit authorized. In the latter case, the money is simply returned, with transaction fees being charged to you;
- Your Meposit account may be definitively blocked without prior notice in the event these terms of use will not be respected. As a result, your account balance is simply returned, with transaction fees being charged to you.
About Meposit
- 1. Meposit is an electronic payment service offered by swapps, a company constituted under Cameroonian law and headquartered in Yaounde, Cameroon.
The company specializes in the collection of electronic money issued by third parties, including mobile telephony operators, to make electronic payments in the future. - 2. Meposit’s name and graphic charter are protected by copyright laws. You may not copy, imitate, modify or use them without swapps’ prior written consent.
- 3. You may not assign any of your rights or obligations to anyone under this agreement without swapps’ prior written consent. You may not transfer your Meposit account to a third party.
- 4. Meposit will notify you of changes to these terms of use via SMS. You will therefore need to connect to this page to be immediately informed about such changes.
Any change will be made unilaterally by swapps and you will be deemed to have accepted it after you have received notice of it. If you disagree with any change, you must stop using Meposit and immediately start the process to close your account via mail. - 5. You can contact Meposit by email at contact@meposit.com or by post to P.O. Box 12 938, Yaounde, Cameroon.
- 6. While you may request to close your Meposit account at any time, note that you will still remain liable to swapps after you terminate this agreement for any obligations incurred before the date of termination.
About Meposit accounts
- 1. To be eligible to open a Meposit account, you must (1) be a resident of Cameroon; (2) be age of majority if you are an individual person; (3) be authorized to act on behalf of a company when establishing an account in the name of an artificial person.
- 2. Meposit accepts 2 types of accounts namely natural persons’ accounts and artificial persons’ accounts.
- 3. Every Meposit account has a balance which you, the holder, can check at any time in your account’s web interface on meposit.com.
About cash deposits on Meposit
- 1. Every cash deposit has a threshold which is set according to your Meposit account history. The threshold is specified on your Meposit account’s web interface on meposit.com.
- 2. The sources of supply of Meposit accounts are limited to the following mobile money transfer services:

Every cash deposit goes through an automatic validation process which may invalidate the said deposit. You must keep the transaction number provided by your mobile money transfer service until you receive confirmation via SMS that your deposit has been accepted on Meposit.
- 4. You can check the history and the status of your deposits by accessing your Meposit account’s web interface on meposit.com.
About money transactions on Meposit
- 1. The balance in your Meposit account is to be used to make secure payments of any swapps services.
- 2. You agree that we may immediately execute any payment order initiated by you through Meposit or associated tools.
About closure of a Meposit account
- 1. This agreement remains in effect from the moment you create your Meposit account until closed.
- 2. You may request to close your account at any time with no strings attached by post to P.O. Box 12 938, Yaounde, Cameroon or by email at contact@meposit.com.
- 3. Once your Meposit account is closed, it cannot be reopened and the mobile number associated with it cannot be used again. The remaining balance in the account after closure will be returned to you at your cost.
About your use of Meposit service
- 1. The terms of this agreement shall be scrupulously respected when using Meposit.
- 2. You shall use Meposit to the extent permitted by law. For example, you may not use it to launder money.
- 3. You shall not in any way promote any Meposit co-branded tools to third parties as an electronic payment solution without swapps’ prior written consent.
- 4. You shall not provide false, inaccurate or misleading information.
- 5. You shall not undertake any activity that has an adverse effect on Meposit or swapps.
- 6. You shall be a resident of Cameroon.
- 7. You shall neither attempt to obtain information from another Meposit account, nor disclose information you might obtain in one way or another.
- 8. You shall keep secret any information on your Meposit account including your password, your secret questions and your greeting phrase in your sole discretion. You shall under no circumstances share such information with anyone but Meposit if you forgot your password and are taken through your account recovery process.
- 9. You shall not save the password of your Meposit account in your browser.
About disputes with Meposit
- 1. If a dispute relating to your use of Meposit arises between you and swapps, contact us immediately by post to P.O. Box 12 938 or by email at contact@meposit.com so we can find a solution.
- 2. This agreement shall be governed by Cameroonian law.
- 3. Our failure to act with respect to any breach of this Agreement by you and of any kind does not tantamount to a waiver of our right to act.
- 4. swapps will not be held responsible for any indirect loss or damage caused by its breach of this Agreement.
- 5. Meposit service is provided without warranty.
